Been Down This Road Before

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. These LEOs at least acted in a professional manner. They might be a little ignorant of the law, but nothing got out of hand. Last time I had a discussion like this, it didn't go so well. In my case, the officer did a lot of yelling and threatening, and I did a lot of listening. Just the price you pay for having a camera.

Scouting For Shooting Locations

I am currently scouting for shooting locations in the Eugene / Springfield area for a couple of upcoming projects. I really need to locate a lager home in the local area that is well furnished for a 2-3 hour photo shoot. If you have a home that fits the bill please contact me and see if we can work out some sort of barter of services for the use of the location.
I also have a separate project that needs some industrial space to shoot in. Again a 2-3 hour photo shoot.

Off Topic Medical Insurance Rant

Just got a look at the revisions to this years medical insurance policy. Pretty scary! I am currently accessing my previous employer's medical plan through the COBRA plan. This year they have raised the deductible to $2500 per person $7500 for a family, and then will only pay 70% (of what they think it should cost). I was told that they would cap the out of pocket at $6000 per person and $12,000 for a family. Pretty scary! Worst case is $7500 plus the $12,000 plus the premiums, plus co-pays equals $24,500 in medical expenses. I am telling everyone in the family DO NOT GET SICK OR HURT. That's a luxury I can ill afford. $24,500 is a pretty good sized chunk of change.

California enacts law to protect celebrities from the paparazzi

By Carlos Miller
While police in the United Kingdom are beginning to crackdown on people who photograph the royal family in public, California will begin to enforce a new law that protects American royalty – Hollywood celebrities.

The new bill was signed last year by Hollywood celebrity, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and went into effect January 1st. It seeks to protect the privacy of celebrities against paparazzi photographers who stalk them as well as the celebrity magazines that purchase these photos. Violators can be punished by fines of up to $50,000.
