Here are a few simple tips for those of you who want to take on the challenge of photographing your family during the holidays.

1. Gear up. Make sure you have looked at your gear and have everything you’ll need for the big day. I prefer to work with a single lens with a wide zoom range. Make sure to have plenty of charged batteries and pre-formatted digital media (CF, SD cards, etc.)

Trapped On A Couch

Forced to take several days off due to debilitating back pain. Since Thursday I have basically been trapped on my sofa with brief trips to a traction table. What I have found most amazing is the amount of work you can still get done from your sofa. With a laptop and a cell phone you can actually be fairly productive in spite of the pain.
